Beadboard Ceiling In Bathroom

Before

Our ceiling was just a bit too long for JUST a paneled ceiling, and we didn't want to have any seams between the pieces, so I came up with the idea of making a thick frame, to compensate for the extra space, that the beadboard could not reach. We bought a 7 inch board…and cut a basic 45 degree corner frame

(It makes sure it's okay, AFTER the cut… Ya… that's how we roll… lol)

That's the whole thing...cut...before you paint it and install it. these images are a few years old… but you get the point…

A few liquid nails on the back of each piece

(please don't mind the mess at the bottom…ugh)

First piece edited! It's not just a man/woman job…it takes a small “team”…and a photographer. 🙂

On goes the trim piece, inside. We just used liquid nails for this step, and tape to hold it in place while it dries...we didn't want to split the thin wood. 🙂

UPDATE:

I had a few questions about how well this ceiling holds up to hot showers and condensation. We had NO problems 🙂

I think if you caulk the whole thing well and use a higher foil paint like a semi-gloss then hot water and such shouldn't be an issue 🙂
