I decided to do everything by hand - the setting, the outdoor garden, the furniture (as much as possible), the food and it was a real labor of love and I found something that I really like TO DO. look at the barrel in this picture - i bought a regular wooden barrel, varnished it and added a "long bottom leaf" label - and filled it with hobbit pipe weed!! !! the soap is fimo and the bottles are pearls

My mom made a cute patchwork quilt for the bed but I changed the bed and it won't fit in the new bed (hint mom i need a new quilt i love you x)
I like the paint here - it's a Rivendell paint and the frame was a bargain at 20p because it was broken into small pieces when I bought it - superglue is my friend 🙂
the castle on the shelf that I bought at the Miniatura show. I undercoated it in black and drybrushed it in mithril silver (thanks Games Workshop and my early years of painting warhammer models)
The axes are from my Gimli doll that I bought in the USA in 2000 (yes, again, I know I'm a geek)

I just wanted to explain some things that a lot of people have commented on. I've seen Tolkien's sketch of the end of the bag many times, so I know how my end of the bag differs:

Again, I don't have the space to arrange all these rooms. In fact, even this sketch does not match the Hobbit's text: "bedrooms, bathrooms, cellars, pantries (many of these), cupboards (he had whole rooms devoted to clothes), kitchens, halls to eat, everything was on the same floor”
There should be kitchens and dining rooms instead of just one each - so I guess if the person who wrote the "atlas of middle earth" can use artistic license, so can I! I based some on the movie, some on the book, and some on my imagination. (everything you can't see on the shelves is in the small store cupboard behind glass doors or in drawers - couldn't fit everything on the shelves)
I truly believe that I have done my best given my constraints of time, space and money and that any work based on literature will be highly questionable because every person on this planet has a unique imagination and what richness, varied, beautiful planet it is because of that. So I'm glad a lot of people like my version, and sorry for anyone who thinks it doesn't match the book - believe me, I know my own downfalls, but I'm only human and maybe that one day soon I will make another version that suits you better 🙂

Illustrated Floor Plans Feature Architecture And Set Design Of Beloved Films
This continuing series of meticulously painted floor plans captures the cinematic spaces of famous films like Parasite (2019), Roma (2018) and Call Me By Your Name (2017). According to her artist statement, Ilieva's work is based on "the extraction of floor plans from the houses of main characters". She spends considerable time investigating each film and tracing the architecture on graph paper.
