How to play "The Floor is Lava"
This game is simply played by avoiding the floor at all costs, using furniture to move around the room, and other household items, such as books, etc. When someone hits the ground they are out and the remaining players continue the game until everyone has succumbed to the lava, then you get up and start again. Toddler version of "The Floor Is Lava"
Jumping on furniture and jumping off tables is much trickier and slightly more dangerous for your toddler, so there is a safer way. Place blankets, rugs, and pillows on the floor about 1 or 2 feet apart and hop them from pillow to pillow to avoid the lava.

Now that you know how we built our obstacle course from THIS POST, let's cover how we actually played the game, The Floor is Lava. In the game show, all the contestants have to do is cross the lava pit. Well, I didn't want the kids to compete, so I made it a big goal for them all to work toward. Well, among those lava balloons were also yellow/gold, prize balloons, and coconuts. Inside these balloons and coconuts were pom poms that kids had to pick up to "level up."Top Level Scoreboard
Looking at the food idea board, you'll notice the different "tiers" for Gatorades, snacks, and possibly cupcakes. The kids would run through the class, collect pom poms, fill my scoreboard, then head to the upper level table. With masking tape and spray paint, I made little level windows where the kids could see their pom poms falling inside. Each time a window filled with orange pom poms, they had to go to the table and win the next treat. Score points to level up
When a child entered the lava pit, their job was to find a yellow balloon and pop it for the pom pom inside. So, going from the entrance to the exit, they would stretch and look for yellow balloons. Some children found yellow balloons with 1 large pompom, others found a balloon with 3 small pompoms. With this style of pointing and teamwork, the kids continued to run through the obstacle course over and over, encouraging each other to make big reaches for the balloons and coconuts. They had to climb, jump, bounce and use a lot of energy that they had been stuck with during the winter. I am Kandice

Floor Is Lava Season 2 Review – Annoying Contestants Mixed With Lava
Loading JustWatch data...2.5 Summary A great format that, like the first season, is heavily undermined by very annoying contestants that can cause audiences to turn off the show. Much like the first season of Floor Is Lava, it does exactly what the title suggests. As a result, we get five episodes (five less than the first season, I might add) of sheer nonsense that you can't help but watch. If you weren't a fan of the first season, it would probably be a waste of time trying to watch the second season. However, while saying that, if you loved the first season, chances are you will love this batch of episodes as much. What might alienate some Floor is Lava viewers is that the show is very American, with many of the contestants being annoying/gritty the whole time they're on screen. Featuring some of Netflix's biggest reality stars, such as Too Hot To Handle's Harry and Chase, they're perhaps less boring than some of the other contestants who've been on the show. Overall, the beauty of Floor is Lava is that it's a game that audiences watching at home will desperately want to participate in.
