I don't know how long it took me when I started drinking wine to get by and trying to take on more of a management role compared to my husband who did most of the work. Some of the wood has been damaged/painted/scratched but nothing too noticeable, that's mostly my reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I thought 6' would be thin but by the time my toddler had his blankets on the top bed and with the rail you don't want to have a too thick mattress. I have a 3 and 4 year old (almost 5) and this is the perfect size for them. My 3 year old left his toddler bed and moved to the bottom bunk where I don't have to worry about him falling out and my 5 year old has his own room but has quickly claimed the top bunk and moved into all his stuffed animals.
